FIRST LINE PRACTITIONERS

Physiotherapists are first line practitioners. This means that a patient does not need to be referred to physiotherapy by a doctor. We are medically trained to assess, make a diagnosis and come to a decision as to the appropriate treatment required. If we feel it is necessary, we will refer the patient to a specialist for further investigations.

OUR RATES

Our fees are charged within the prescribed medical scheme rates. Physiotherapy fees are dependent on the required treatment modalities as described in the guidelines of the National Health Reference Price List (NHRL). The physiotherapist will choose the appropriate modalities based on their assessment of the patient. Our practice will claim directly from the patient’s medical aid with their permission. However, payment will be due after each session attended if a patient is either private or has exhausted their medical scheme benefits.
